 Porosity free… There are several factors that cause porosity and contamination in a finished product… Design, Sprues, Material (wax/resin, investment, metal), Casting Method, Temperatures, just to name a few. So, we do insist on certain criteria in order to offer our guarantee. Here are a few of the big ones: 

• Resin prints must be from RMC (yes we can use yours, but there is no guarantee)
• Wax carvings/injection must be from standard carving wax and approved by RMC. (yes we carve, print and inject as well)
• Design must be approved by RMC and confirmed that there are no design issues that will cause porosity or contamination from investment.
• RMC must approve sprue placement.
• RMC must supply all metals used (we alloy the metals ourselves during the casting process and use single melt metals only, which are metals that have only gone through one melt to produce shot. Yes this includes gold as well, and we only use .9999 gold in our alloys).
• Yes we will use your gold as well, but insist on solder and contamination free metals containing the same color and alloys. We recommend using no more than 30% old gold mixed with new gold. We will cast all old gold as well… Both of these options void our guarantee and will not be added to any other production pours (meaning your pieces will be cast in their own mold which is a higher cost). We also require enough gold for a button and sprue/s (this will be discussed in person and varies depending on the amount needed to cast).

• We finish and inspect ALL of our finished goods to the highest of standards.
• Prongs and crowns are polished and bur free.
• Zero porosity.
• Stones are tight and straight.
• Sizes are within .1mm.
• Bezels are clean.

RMC follows the Geller Blue Book for most applications and offers 40%-60% off. We do need to adjust our pricing according to gold prices and cost of supplies. Currently we advise using UpToDate “Geller Express Pricing” to quote to your customers because that is the benchmark we are using until gold pricing stabilizes and their new book comes out.

Regarding our production and casting pricing:

• Production (finish work and stone setting follows the “Geller Blue Book Express Pricing”).
• Casting requires a custom quote because factors like size, design, lead time and quantity come into play.
